LAS VEGAS (April 7, 2007) – The Vegas Grand Prix offsite entertainment at Fremont Street Experience (FSE) on Friday boasted an amazing attendance of more than 40,000 people, FSE security speculates.
“Knowing that we’re doing our inaugural race in Vegas, we know we had to be bigger and better than the rest – creating a sort of New Year’s Eve atmosphere on Fremont Street Experience. We believe we achieved that and couldn’t be happier,” said Jim Freudenberg, president and CEO of the Vegas Grand Prix. “Just wait for next year.”
Throughout the day, spectators and guests of downtown Las Vegas were able to enjoy a variety of events throughout the day. Free to the public, the Friday Night Street Party event comprised of a Champ Car autograph session, major rock concerts and extreme sports with an overall party taking place throughout the five blocks that make the experience. Concerts included Big & Rich with special appearances from Cowboy Troy and Lil’ Jon. Chris Cornell, Army of Anyone and Teddybears also performed at the Third Street Stage. In other areas of the party were Riders of the Thunderdome and motorcycle jumpers.
