LAS VEGAS (March 20, 2007) -- The Fremont Street Experience is taking its Viva Vision show to the fast lane with the playing of a fast-paced six-minute action-packed video featuring footage from the Champ Car World Series, which kicks off its 2007 season April 6-8 through the streets of downtown Las Vegas. The video airs nightly at 10 p.m.

“I have seen a lot of concepts for the Viva Vision system and it’s great to see people trying a few different things with the canopy,” praised Geoff Bickel, director of technical entertainment for the Fremont Street Experience. “This one is a good blend of music and high energy motion and media, which is a very good thing. The crowds love high energy and a good beat to dance to. It’s a contemporary soundtrack and we don’t have a lot of that with our Fremont Street shows. This is a great thing to have.”

Bickel said the intense work involved in the high-tech video is evidenced by the final product.

“The Vegas Grand Prix video really takes advantage of the unique physical dimensions of the Viva Vision system,” he said. “Our system has 550,000 watts of concert quality sounds, so the music will be thumping really hard. This is the world’s largest electronic LED display and there’s no other like it. Once people come here and see this sort of video, they will be back.”

Bickel said the airing would continue through April 8.

The Fremont Street Experience canopy space frame is 90 feet high at its apex with an inside radius of 44 feet. With more than 175,700 square feet of interior space – 4.03 acres – the Fremont Street Experience is home to the world’s largest electric sign. It measures the length of 4.62 football fields.

The Vegas Grand Prix will mark the first time auto racing has taken place through the streets of Las Vegas. It is also is the first time since 1985 that a motorsports-related event has been featured on Fremont Street since the old Mint 400 Desert Race staged tech inspection there
