LAS VEGAS (March 16, 2007) - Vegas Grand Prix organizers announced today that the entertainment lineup for the Vegas Grand Prix Friday Night Street Party on April 6 will include hit country duo Big & Rich with Cowboy Troy, alternative rocker Chris Cornell, rock amalgamation Army of Anyone and up-and-coming indie band the Teddybears.
"This will be an amazing night. We're presenting one of the most eclectic concert lineups downtown Vegas has ever seen," said Dale Jensen, partner in DDB Ventures, the company that owns Vegas Grand Prix. "We're not joking when we say the Vegas Grand Prix is a giant street party where a race breaks out."
Located on the Third Street stage of the Fremont Street Experience, the evening will be free and open to the public. This follows a day of racecars whizzing down the streets of downtown Las Vegas for practice runs and qualifying laps. The concert series includes shows by the five concert acts, motorcycle jumpers, outdoor bars and easy access to all downtown casinos. Also taking place is an autograph session with the Champ Car starting lineup beginning at 5:15 p.m. The concert begins at 6 p.m. Friday and concludes at 11 p.m. that night.

Vegas Grand Prix is a weekend that appeals to people with a wide range of tastes," said Bradley Yonover, who is partner with Jensen in DDB Ventures event. "Friday night is just the start of a mind-blowing weekend of speed and entertainment."
Big & Rich is an American country music duo comprised of Kenny Alphin, also known as Big Kenny, who is the former solo artist and lead singer for luvjOi, and John Rich, the former vocalist and bassist of Lonestar. They first performed together in 1998. Big & Rich recently won a Grammy for the "8th of November" music video. In 2006, John Rich was named Songwriter of the Year for the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP).
Troy Coleman, also known as Cowboy Troy, burst onto the country music fan's consciousness with the multi-lingual breakdown in the middle of "Rollin' (The Ballad of Big & Rich)," the opening track to platinum-selling labelmates Big & Rich's 2004 release, Horse of A Different Color. This Dallas native has been trumpeted from the stage of global television broadcasts as the world's only six-foot-five black rapping cowboy. Now, Cowboy Troy finds himself smack dab in the midst of molding his own defining statement with the creation of his debut album, produced by Big Kenny, John Rich and Paul Worley.
Chris Cornell is an American guitarist/singer-songwriter best known as the former lead singer of the rock bands Soundgarden and Audioslave. He began his musical career as a drummer, before moving on to become a singer and guitarist. Recently, Cornell wrote and performed the song accompanying the opening titles for the 2006 James Bond film "Casino Royale." In the fall of 2006, Cornell started recording his second solo album, with producer Steve Lillywhite, with a tentative release date of May 1, 2007.
Army of Anyone is the blending of the lead singer of Filter, Richard Patrick, the guitarist and bassist from Stone Temple Pilots, Dean and Robert DeLeo, and seasoned drummer Ray Luzier. From 1994 to 2002, Richard, Robert and Dean have shared many a stage and have crossed many a path, often holding jam sessions together. The foundation for the group was laid when Patrick enlisted the DeLeos to help him co-write a song for the Filter album he was working on at the time called "A Better Place." The band is currently touring and promoting their recently released self-titled album.
Teddybears is a Swedish rock band that formed in 1991. The Stockholm-based collective released their U.S. debut "Soft Machine" on Big Beat Recordings on Sept. 12, 2006. Teddybears most poplular song, "Cobrastyle," has been used in numerous television shows and films, including HBO's "Entourage," ABC's "Grey's Anatomy," "Employee of the Month" starring Dane Cook and Jessica Simpson, "The Honeymooners" starring Cedric the Entertainer and the newly released "Epic Movie."

The Vegas Grand Prix is a three-day festival of speed and entertainment being held April 6-8, 2007 that will encircle the heart of downtown Las Vegas. The weekend will feature rock concerts, a celebrity poker tournament, Easter services, an impressive Easter egg hunt and culminate in the internationally televised 2007 series opener for the Champ Car World Series.
The racing portion of the weekend will also present a Historic Grand Prix with legendary open-wheel racers participating as well as the season opener for Champ Car Atlantic - Champ Car's support series. The temporary street circuit is a 2.44-mile, 12-turn course through the heart of "Glitter Gulch." Champ Cars generate nearly 750 horsepower and can reach speeds up to 180 miles per hour on the Vegas street course. It is expected to be one of the largest events in the history of downtown Las Vegas.
